What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Gathering, use and disclosure of non-personally identifying information
Users of the Website Generally
“Non-Personally-Identifying Information” is information that, without the aid of additional information, cannot be directly associated with a specific person. “Personally-Identifying Information,” by contrast, is information such as a name or email address that, without more, can be directly associated with a specific person. As part of the normal website functionality, Non-Personally-Identifying Information of the sort that Web browsers, depending on their settings, may be available to us. That information includes the user’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, operating system, browser type and the locations of the websites the user views right before arriving at, while navigating and immediately after leaving the Website.
Even though it is possible for us to determine from an IP address a user’s Internet service provider and the geographic location of the visitor’s point of connectivity as well as other statistical usage data, We have not and will not seek to obtain that Personally-Identifying Information. At no time will GestaltOD Partners release Non-Personally-Identifying Information gathered from Website users in the aggregate.
When you complete a contact form on our site, you grant permission for us to electronically forward the information you provide to the iGOLD™ registrar. Your identifying information will be used exclusively to add you to our database and to communicate with you regarding current and future iGOLD™ program offerings. At no time will any of your information be used for any other purpose or sold to or shared with third parties without your written permission.
This site currently does not enable visitors to open accounts and is not open to comments or other interactive communications. However, if we or our class participants find value in adding these features, you should know that if you leave a comment here, you may choose to save your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If we grant you access to the site as an author or contributor and you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves as if you have visited that website directly.
Sharing your data
Any and all information you provide to us is maintained by GestaltOD Partners, exclusively for our use. We do not share any information without your permission. We also will not ask for information from you without explaining how we are using it.
For example, if we ask for your headshot, we will explain that it is being used for your iGOLD™ class or alumni photo album. If you expressly deny permission, we will not mine your likeness from other public domain sources or include your information in the print or electronic versions of the album. Likewise, if we take photos in a class, we will first advise you verbally that the photo might be used on our website, and we will request your permission to capture your image. If you do not grant permission, we will not include you in the image. You may revoke that permission at any time by sending an email to email@example.com and we will remove your image from any photos on our site.
How long we retain your data
We currently have no need to enable comments on this site. However, if we add a blog to the site and you leave a comment on any post created by our authors and/or contributors, your comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically, instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
Currently, there also is no portal for prospective students to register directly on the gestaltod.com website. However, if we add that feature, we also will store the personal information you provide in your user profile internally. You will be able to see, edit, or delete your personal information at any time (except you will not be able to change your username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If we add account or comment features, and you have an account here, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You also can ask us to erase any personal data about you that is in our possession. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
We may share your Personally-Identifying Information, which may include your name and contact information (including email address) with our authorized email service providers that perform certain services on our behalf. We may also share your name, contact information and credit card information with our authorized service providers who process credit card payments. These service providers may have access to personal information needed to perform their functions but are not permitted to share or use such information for any other purpose.
We take the security of your Personally-Identifying Information seriously and use reasonable electronic, personnel and physical measures to protect it from loss, theft, alteration or misuse. However, please be advised that even the best security measures cannot fully eliminate all risks. We cannot guarantee that only authorized persons will view your information. We are not responsible for third-party circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures.
We are dedicated to protect all information on the Website as is necessary. However, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Personally-Identifying Information by keeping your password confidential. You should change your password immediately if you believe someone has gained unauthorized access to it or your account. If you lose control of your account, you should notify us immediately.
CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS
California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the “Shine The Light” law, permits our users who are California residents to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, information about the Personally-Identifying Information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year. If applicable, this information would include a list of the categories of the Personally-Identifying Information that was shared and the names and addresses of all third parties with which we shared Personally-Identifying Information in the immediately preceding calendar year. If you are a California resident and would like to make such a request, please submit your request in writing to our privacy officer as listed below.
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. Because there is not yet a common understanding of how to interpret the DNT signal, the Website currently does not respond to DNT browser signals or mechanisms.
